Stanford M. Forrester

Stanford M. Forrester is a past president of the Haiku Society of America as well as the editor of bottle rockets: a collection of short verse, which boasts its 16th year in print. Stanford has had poems published in many journals and anthologies worldwide. He perhaps is most proud of his haiku being included in Haiku edited by Peter Washington in the Everyman’s Pocket Poetry Series published by Knopf, American Zen: A Gathering of Poets published by Bottomdog Press, and Haiku in English: The First 100 years published by Norton. In 2004 he took first seat in the 57th Annual Basho Anthology Contest in Ueno, Japan and in 2012, one of his haiku won second place in the International Robert Frost Poetry & Haiku Contest. That same year he was also nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Stanford is very interested in exploring the link between philosophy, art, and the human condition. Sandra Mooney-Ellerbeck

Sandra Mooney-Ellerbeck is an internationally published poet. Her most recent haiku was included in The Heron's Nest, September 2014 issue. She is delighted to be a DailyHaiku contributor for Cycle 18. Previously, she enjoyed the honour in Cycle 3 and Cycle 8. David Jacobs

David Jacobs received the British Haiku Award in 2011 and has received other prizes and commendations in haiku competitions. His work has appeared in most of the English language haiku journals including Acorn, Frogpond, Modern Haiku, Blithe Spirit, Heron's Nest, Presence, The Mainichi and Bottle Rockets. His haiku collection, Just Before Bed, was published by Hub Editions and well reviewed. His work has also been selected by Red Moon Press for its best of the year anthologies.

Shloka Shankar

Shloka Shankar is a freelance writer residing in India. Since having fallen in love with Japanese verse forms, her poems have been published in numerous international journals of repute including, the World Haiku Association, Issa's Untidy Hut, Under the Basho, cattails, The Living Haiku Anthology, World Haiku Review, Daily Haiga, A Hundred Gourds, Haibun Today, Atlas Poetica, Prune Juice, bottle rockets, paper wasp, Acorn and The Heron's Nest among others.

Kashinath Karmakar (kash poet)

Kashinath Karmakar (kash poet) lives in Durgapur, India. An electrical engineer by profession he came to know about haiku in 2011 through a poetry site called poetrysoup. His works have appeared in various online and print journals like Frogpond, Tinywords,The Heron's Nest,Prune Juice and Creatrix. In 2013 he won third prize in Kusamakura International Haiku contest and an HM in the Mainichi International Haiku Contest. He has over the years placed among the top in several kukai. He is the organizer of Indian Kukai.

kjmunro

Originally from Vancouver, kjmunro now lives in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. She has recently joined the Executive of Haiku Canada, & as a volunteer for The Whitehorse Poetry Society, now called Yukon Writers' Collective Ink, she helped organize the biennial Whitehorse Poetry Festival. She was awarded Honorable Mention in the 2014 Robert Spiess Memorial Haiku Award Competition, & her chapbook, summer evening, is available through Leaf Press as number ten in their oak leaflet series. Jim Kacian

Jim Kacian is the founder and president of The Haiku Foundation, founder and owner of Red Moon Press, editor-in-chief of Haiku in English: The First Hundred Years, and author of 20 books of haiku.

Nicole Pakan is an active member of the Edmonton literary community. She is the co-editor of DailyHaiku, associate art editor for DailyHaiga, and has served on the board of directors of the Edmonton Poetry Festival. Nicole's first single-author chapbook Driftworks was released in 2012 from Leaf Press. Her work has also recently appeared in: Carousel, CV2, filling Station, The Prairie Journal, and Other Voices. She was the winner of the 2009 Edmonton CBC Poetry Faceoff, placing third nationally. Nicole lives with her literary co-conspirator Patrick M. Pilarski, a dozen fish and far too many plants. Patrick M. Pilarski is the co-editor of DailyHaiku and associate poetry editor for DailyHaiga. His collection of haiku, tanka, haibun, and related forms, Huge Blue, was released in 2009 by Leaf Press, and he is the author of two chapbooks. Patrick's writing has appeared in journals and anthologies across North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. Recent credits include The Fiddlehead, Modern Haiku, The Heron's Nest, Frogpond, contemporary haibun, and Take Five: Best Contemporary Tanka. He has served as Vice President for the League of Canadian Poets, and is a professor at the University of Alberta. Finley J. McDoggerson is the newest member of DailyHaiku's editorial team. When not eating socks and running in the ravine, he enjoys games of chase-me, playing with his ball, and chewing modern literature.

Michael Gravel, Past-Editor and Founder, DailyHaiku, is a writer based in Edmonton, Alberta. He's a founder and the frontman of Edmonton’s Raving Poets, and co-founder of The Roar Spoken Word Festival. He is a freelance writer, web designer, and professional presenter. In December 2007, his life was nearly ended by a pulmonary embolism. In response he authored the chapbook, The Fast Places (Red Nettle, 2008). He lives in a wee house with his wife, stepdaughter, and two incorrigible hounds. He lives to write, code, and spend time with his family.
