LeRoy Gorman

LeRoy Gorman lives in Napanee, Ontario. His poetry, much of it visual, mostly minimalist and haiku, has appeared in print since 1976 in various presentations worldwide and has garnered numerous awards. His works include, among others: whose smile the ripple warps (1980) wind in the keys (1981) heart's garden (1983), parallel journey/voyage parallele, with André Duhaime (1989), nothing personal (2001), fast enough to leave this world (2011). In 1998, he began to publish poetry leaflets and postcards under his pawEpress imprint. Since 2007, he has been editor of Haiku Canada Review. Jim Kacian is Founder and President of The Haiku Foundation, owner of Red Moon Press, and author of nearly a score of books of haiku.




Robert Davey

Robert Davey

Quinquagenarian, checker of locks and occasional haver of fun, Robert Davey lives in Norfolk. Under seige from five whippets and a Jack Russell, he takes refuge in writing haiku, senryu, tanka and haibun. His work, sparsely scattered throughout various print and online journals, can be found on his website, http://reseedinfinity.wordpress.com.

Alan S. Bridges

Alan S. Bridges

Alan S. Bridges began writing haiku in 2008 with encouragement from poet John Stevenson, and was included in A New Resonance 7, Emerging Voices in English-Language Haiku, Red Moon Press, 2011. He recently won 1st Prize in the 2012 Irish Haiku Society International Haiku Competition and placed third in the 2nd annual Polish International Haiku Competition. Alan finds inspiration from trash piles and the view from train windows. He is the father of two great girls, Holly and Emma. This is Alan's second stint as a contributor to DailyHaiku.

Jacqueline Pearce

Jacqueline Pearce is a children's book author who lives in Vancouver, Canada. Her haiku have been published in Frogpond, The Heron's Nest, and Haiku Canada Review, and received honorable mention in the 2010 Vancouver Cherry Blossom Haiku Invitational. Mike W. Blottenberger

Mike W. Blottenberger

Mike W. Blottenberger was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and now resides in Hanover, Pennsylvania. His haiku have appeared in Frogpond, Acorn, Heron's Nest, Tundra, and Mid-America Poetry Review. He did not start writing haiku until after the death of his younger sister. His other passions are growing bonsai, and photography.

S.M. Abeles

S.M. Abeles

S.M. Abeles is a Washington, D.C. attorney who composes poems on dog walks, train rides, and elsewhere when the moment strikes. His work has appeared in many haiku and tanka journals and anthologies, including most recently in nothing in the window, The Red Moon Anthology of English-Language Haiku 2012. He posts at least one new poem daily on his website, The Empty Sky.

Nicole Pakan is an active member of the Edmonton literary community. She is the co-editor of DailyHaiku, associate art editor for DailyHaiga, and has served on the board of directors of the Edmonton Poetry Festival. Nicole's first single-author chapbook Driftworks was released in 2012 from Leaf Press. Her work has also recently appeared in: Carousel, CV2, filling Station, The Prairie Journal, and Other Voices. She was the winner of the 2009 Edmonton CBC Poetry Faceoff, placing third nationally. Nicole lives with her literary co-conspirator Patrick M. Pilarski, a dozen fish and far too many plants. Patrick M. Pilarski is the co-editor of DailyHaiku and associate poetry editor for DailyHaiga. His collection of haiku, tanka, haibun, and related forms, Huge Blue, was released in 2009 by Leaf Press, and he is the author of two chapbooks. Patrick's writing has appeared in journals and anthologies across North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. Recent credits include The Fiddlehead, Modern Haiku, The Heron's Nest, Frogpond, contemporary haibun, and Take Five: Best Contemporary Tanka. He has served as Vice President for the League of Canadian Poets, and is a professor at the University of Alberta. Finley J. McDoggerson

Finley J. McDoggerson is the newest member of DailyHaiku's editorial team. When not eating socks and running in the ravine, he enjoys games of chase-me, playing with his ball, and chewing modern literature.

Mike Gravel

Michael Gravel, Past-Editor and Founder, DailyHaiku, is a writer based in Edmonton, Alberta. He's a founder and the frontman of Edmonton’s Raving Poets, and co-founder of The Roar Spoken Word Festival. He is a freelance writer, web designer, and professional presenter. In December 2007, his life was nearly ended by a pulmonary embolism. In response he authored the chapbook, The Fast Places (Red Nettle, 2008). He lives in a wee house with his wife, stepdaughter, and two incorrigible hounds. He lives to write, code, and spend time with his family.
